Ruth B. Lincoln

Ruth B. Lincoln of Interlaken passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the age 93.

Ruth was born in the Town of Hector on September 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Raymond and Vera (Mount) Baines. After graduating high school, she attended the Ithaca Business School and went on to work NYS Gas and Electric and Hanford Hardware. Ruth eventually took a position at the Interlaken Bank, retiring as manager in 1982.

An active member of the Interlaken community throughout her entire life, Ruth was a member of the Interlaken Reformed Church, Interlaken Garden Club, Legion Auxiliary, Interlaken Historical Society, and helped regularly at the Interlaken Food Pantry. She loved flower gardening, spending hours in her flower beds and collecting antique glass pieces. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Peter Brennan and all of his office staff as well as the girls at the infusion unit at Cayuga Medical Center for their excellent care over the past several years.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Joe and Jerry (Dee) Lincoln; four grandchildren, Kris (Kelly), Belinda (Matt), Brenda (Rod), and Adam; six great grandchildren, Finn, Brigid, Nora, Kallie, Kory, and Quinn; sister in law, Jean Baines; and special friends, Marge and Paul Wyckoff, Darlene Patten, and Hope Bower. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford “Pat” Lincoln in 1996; and brother, Winton Baines.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Interlaken Reformed Church, 8315 Main Street, Interlaken with Rev. Jason Fulkerson officiating.
