Terrill A. Cool of 1695 Taughannock Blvd, Trumansburg, passed away at Hospicare on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 75.
Born on August 18, 1936 in Boulder, Colorado, Terry was the son of the late Dwight and Virginia (Huddleston) Cool. After completing his graduate work in plasma physics, Terry began working at Cornell University in the School of Applied and Engineering Physics. For the past several years, Terry worked collaboratively with investigators at the Lawrence Berkley Laboratory on numerous research projects. He was a fellow of the American Physical Society and Optical Society of America and was a member of the American Chemical Society and the Combustion Institute.
Terry’s love of the outdoors was evident throughout his life. His trips to Oregon and Colorado always included hiking the mountains and enjoying the spectacular views. He chose to build his home on Cayuga Lake where he could admire the beauty of the lake each day. Terry’s most cherished memories were those made while spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland and David Cool. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cool; three children, Cheryl (Daniel) Allan, Celeste Cool, and Laurie (Carl) Tronnes; two step children Jim (Karen) Merod, and Matthew (Lee) Merod; and nine grandchildren, Max, Razieh, Autefeh, Rahmaneh, Lily, Adrianna, Zoe, Gillespie, and Anna.
