Thomas John Bennett

Thomas John Bennett, age 30, of Ithaca passed away after a long battle with addiction on October 14, 2021.

He was born on March 3, 1991 in Ithaca, NY a son to JR Beauford and Evelyn (Sturgeon) Bennett. He graduated from Trumansburg High School and attended auto diesel mechanic school in Nashville.

Tom is survived by his parents, JR Beauford and Evelyn Bennett; siblings, Peggy and Nathan Bennett and Celeste Lindsay; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Stella Bennett and Donald and Violet Sturgeon.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00pm. Life is like a Rose – Rose: Take the seed out of its package, plant it in the ground. Water it and give it sunlight then pull the weeds out around the rose. With tender loving care it will grow, it will have thorns. Life: Take the child out the womb and put it I the world. The child will cry and laugh. Keep the bad things away from the child.
