V. Ahlson, Viola

Viola Ahlson of 5230 Cold Springs Road, Trumansburg passed away at the Lakeside Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the age of 94.

Born in Negaunee, Michigan on March 5, 1909, Viola was the daughter of Ernest and Lizzie Kemppinen Ahlson. Her family moved to the farm on Cold Springs Road in 1921 and over the years Viola became involved in the Trumansburg community.

She was a member of the Podunk Ladies Group and enjoyed making hand-crafts to give as gifts on special occasions. Viola also provided shelter and care to many cats over the years and in return she received the warmth of their companionship.

Viola is survived by many cousins in Michigan and by her many friends in the Trumansburg area including devoted caregiver, Laura Tuttle.

Calling hours will be held at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg on Friday, July 11, 2003 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2:00 pm with the Rev. John Kotun officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at the Grove Cemetery.
