Victoria M. Hesson

We lost our beloved Victoria (Vickie) Mary Hesson on December 21st after a long struggle with addiction; she was 29 years old.

Vickie was born to Dr. Robert and Elizabeth Hesson on April 14, 1986 in Ithaca, NY. She left behind sisters Dana and Laura. She admired and respected her Grandparents Richmond & Mary Hesson and Edward & Hazel Miller, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vickie graduated from Ithaca High School in 2004, earned her Associates in Environmental Science from Tompkins County Community College and attended the University at Buffalo. Victoria lived with many gracious families and friends throughout New York State and was always grateful for those who helped her over the years.

She loved spending time with children of friends and family, caring for her Grandmother Mary, and helping animals. Some of Vickie’s favorite activities were swimming, boating, reading, drawing nature designs, and watching movies. She also had a passion for music and cooking. She loved driving around the countryside with one of her best friends, Amanda, exploring nature, and getting lost on back roads. She enjoyed dressing up, and accentuating her wild red curls. Vickie loved playing games, especially croquet and Yahtzee, where she still holds the family’s high score. She loved her pets Max, Odin, Sheba, Lucy and Spacey. Vickie was bright, witty, sassy, and open-minded with an unforgettable sense of humor. She was audacious, always quick to speak her mind and protective of her loved ones. She was extremely caring and accepting of everyone. Vickie was fearless when it came to befriending others and touched so many lives because of that. Her generous spirit never went unnoticed and even shined in death. She was able to give the gift of life to others through organ donation.

We believe no matter if we are together or apart we will always be in each other’s hearts. She will be greatly missed.

Her memory will be celebrated on December 29th, 2015 from 5 to 8pm at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg NY.
