Virginia L. Wilson of 16 Pease St., Trumansburg, passed away at the Cayuga Medical Center on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the age of 94.
Born in Syracuse, New York on January 9, 1914, Virginia was the daughter of the late Arthur and Carrie Southworth Lester. Virginia's business degree assisted her in securing a secretarial position with Cornell University, in Human Ecology, a position where she flourished for over 20 years, retiring in 1976.
Virginia loved the small village of Trumansburg. She lived there for over 60 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Trumansburg Senior Citizens.
Virginia embraced life each day with an exuberance that was contagious. Whether she was enjoying the outdoors or dining in one of her favorite restaurants with family or friends, Virginia's warm enthusiasm was evident. She was an avid reader who used the knowledge gained from books to master many crossword puzzles.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, David. She is survived by three sons, Bill (Evie) of Winter Haven, FL, David (Cathy) of Kalamazoo, MI and Bob of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many friends.
In keeping with Virginia's wishes, no public services will be held.
