Henry W. “Tim” Eighmey of Interlaken passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the age of 71.

Tim was born on August 18, 1946, in a farmhouse in East Meredith, NY, the youngest son to the late Kenneth and Mary (Nichols) Eighmey. One of Tim’s few regrets was not being able to serve in the military, but he worked for the federal government at the Seneca Army Depot for 28 years in various positions. He served on the Board of Directors and was a life member at the Interlaken Sportmen’s Club for over 25 years, served on the Interlaken Cemetery Board of Trustees, was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop21, and coached little league and modified football.

All of his time spent working and volunteering was very enjoyable however the times most cherished were those spent with his family.

Tim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Eighmey; son Tim (Michelle) Eighmey; grandchildren, TJ and Vanessa; siblings, Cindy Meckley, Mary (Virgil) Beckley, Judy Covert, Bill (Claire) Eighmey, and Jim (Doris) Eighmey; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by sisters, Bertha (Ed) Charlebois and Barbara (Ladue) Stephens; brother, Kenneth (Charlotte) Eighmey; and brothers in law, Kelly Coats, Jerri McDonald, Frank Covert, Paul Barber, and Dave Montford.

The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Dr. Bael, all the girls in the infusion suite, and staff at Cayuga Hematology Oncology for their care and compassion during Tim’s treatments.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the funeral home. Prayers of Committal will follow in West Lodi Cemetery.
