William John Golden of Trumansburg passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the age of 51.
Born on June 17, 1962 to James and Beverly (Loan) Golden, Will was a graduate of Trumansburg Central Schools and was a lifelong “T-burger”. His most important life connections were to his immediate family and his vast Trumansburg community family. All who met Will recognized the kind soul that lay just under the jokes and curly blond hair.
Will was predeceased by his father, Jim Golden, and leaves behind his loving family: Mother, Beverly Golden; daughter, Heather (Mike) LaDuca and granddaughter, Madelyn, of North Tonawanda; son, Zachary (Christi) Golden, of Trumansburg; his loving partner, Laura Cavin and her son, Michael Corcoran, of Ithaca; siblings, Pamela (Peter) Umlauf, of Virginia Beach and David (Pamela) Golden of Ithaca; nieces, Jessica, Ashley, Taryn and nephew, Alex, as well as many cousins, extended family, and friends.
Will’s other interests included tinkering on almost any machine, spending time outdoors (particularly with his beloved pets) and passionately cheering on his Oakland Raiders. He was proud of the business he built from the ground up and continued to operate, Cayuga Powder Coating.
A Celebration of Will’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 beginning at 2pm at New Park, 1500 Taughannock Boulevard, Ithaca.
The family asks those who wish to make a contribution in Will’s memory to kindly consider the William Golden Memorial Fund. A donation may be made at any Tompkins Trust Company office or sent to Tompkins Trust Company, Attn: Greg Acquavella, P.O. Box 460, Ithaca, NY 14851.
