William Robert "Bob" Chick of Moravia passed away at Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the age of 82.
Bob was born in Patchogue, Long Island, New York on August 7, 1934, a son of the late James and Alice (Trombley) Chick. Always a hard worker, he began working on farms at a young age and spent many years working as a service manager. Later in life, he became a truck driver and eventually retired at 75.
Bob enjoyed reminiscing about his days as a stock car driver and working on the farm. He enjoyed watching Cops, auto racing and baseball, and cooking. Bob was most proud of his family and especially loved attending athletic and school events for his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy (Goodrich) Chick; three children, Tammy (Jimm) Becker of Moravia, Lynn (Fred) Jones of Scipio, and William (Becca) Chick of Geneva; grandchildren, Paige and Zach Becker; several additional grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Terry of Marysville, WA; three brothers, John of Auburn, Frank (Vivian) of Kodak, TN, and James (Doris) Jr. of Brockport; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Marion, Ruth, and Dorothy; brothers, George, Harry, and Walt; and beloved dog, Toby.
The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Wade Funeral Home, 22 Church Street, Moravia. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6:00pm at the funeral home.
